How it all started...
Desert Chapel began, in 1951, with a call on the lives of a young couple, Jack and Jessie Mae Morrow. They were armed with a heart for God and a vision to impact this community. The church began as a home Bible study attendeneed by nine faithful people, and continued to grow, and influence the city of Palm Springs. In 1978, God opened the door for the church to acquire 3.5 acres at 630 Sunrise Way (our current location), and our first Sanctuary was built completely debt-free. The foundation for the future was laid for God to move in power and blessing.
Expanding the vision...
Over the decades we have seen tremendous growth and impact. In 2000, we more than doubled our property and expanded our Sanctuary as well. In addition we added a high school making our Christian school K-12.
Today, we are privileged to have over 3000 families who support Desert Chapel. We are honored that so many are part of our DC family, and thrilled that we continue to impact our community. Our Harvest Festival outreach had more than 2500 in attendance and our F.I.N.D. program continues to help feed approximately 300 people in need in the community every month. Also, we cooperate with the Marine Corps and their “Toys for Tots” program each Christmas, helping give more than 10,000 gifts to local children in need.

Where we are headed...
We are currently in the process of expanding and updating our facilities; including our kids play area, Christian school, bookstore and more.
In addition, we are excited for what God is doing by His Spirit and are hungry for more. We have a desire to see the lost and hurting reached by the compassion and love of Jesus. We want to say to those looking for a place to be loved, accepted, and belong, "Welcome to our family".
