Did you hear that?
Do you hear it? Close your eyes and listen for a moment. What do you hear...? I hear the ticking of the internal workings of a clock on my wall. I hear my stomach growling with hunger. My computer is humming ever so quiet. The Air conditioner continues to run tirelessly to keep us cool in the desert. What’s my point? Would you have heard those noises if you didn’t stop and take the time to hear them? Those different things would still make noise and still function, but perhaps we would have missed the appreciation. My heart will continue to pump whether or not I remember the beats.
No matter the relationship, communication is paramount. I ask that parents listen to your
children, bosses hear your employees, and spouses receive the necessities of your spouse. There are many more different types of relationships, but my point is that communication is a driving factor in everyday life. I would have never been married if not for my humility to stop and listen to my wife speak. Likewise, pause and hear the word of God to build that relationship.
God is trying to speak to you constantly. He works diligently to communicate to us. It is so
imperative that we appreciate the will of the Lord daily. Romans 10:17 says “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Christ also says “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” The Good Shepard hears us, and we need to hear Him as he directs our paths. What is the Lord saying to you today? I would like to invite you to ask Him today. Be at peace today as, “The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their cry… The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles.” –Psalm 34:15; 17
