Peace
We are living in times like no other, times where the smallest thing can either make your day
or wreck your week. The television has become something I try and avoid, due to the
“repeat” that comes from its channels. The day where leaving your home has your covering
your face in order to enter a store. Shopping for a bag of rice has turned into an ordeal, and
paper towels…forget it. I don’t know about you, but the world seems to be turning upside
down to me. Yet, I still have peace, peace that comes from the fact that God is still in
control of all things.
John 14:27 tells us, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the
world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” I find rest in this verse,
not just now but I have this verse constantly going through my mind whenever I have lost
control of things around me, when things get nuts.
John continues a couple chapters later, and in 16:33 he writes and this one hit home last
night as I was spending some time in the Word, “I have told you these things, so that in me
you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome
the world.” Thank you Lord, thank you for reminding me that it doesn’t matter what we are
facing today, you have overcome it ALL.
Today, as you find yourself faced with what the news channels are broadcasting, what
friends or family are communicating, rest in the fact that the Peace of the Lord is right here.
Breathe in and breathe out, let your face show that you have Peace, because of what God
has done. Be blessed and be a Blessing –
