Sticks And Stones

While growing up, almost everyone heard the phrase, "Sticks and stones will break my bones, but words will never hurt me." The reality is that words are very hurtful and very harmful.

•Do your words glorify the Lord?
•Do you speak positively or negatively?

James 3 references the one thing that is difficult to tame, the TONGUE. The tongue is like a rudder on a ship that DIRECTS YOUR LIFE (3:5). Remember in the beginning God said, "Let there be light." Although God didn't need to say anything during creation, He verbalized His will because there is power in what is spoken. Both life and death are contained within the power of the tongue (Prov. 18:21). Be mindful of your speech. Keep your words:
●Beneficial
●Holy
●Encouraging
●Loving

Colossians 3:17 - And whatever you do in WORD or deed, do all in the name of
the Lord Jesus.
•Do people know you by your fruits as Jesus mentions (Matthew 7:16)?
•Do people know you love Christ but what you say?
•As Christ said to Peter in Matthew 16, "Who do you SAY that I am?"

Speak as a follower of Christ and set the example for others to follow. YOU WILL CHANGE
SOMEONE'S DAY BY WHAT YOU SAY!
